Home Again

Made a quick trip with [livejournal.com profile] kyburg up to San Francisco to see [livejournal.com profile] silver_kun and [livejournal.com profile] ceolyn for the Dickens Fair. Think about walking into Diagon Alley. Very much a Victorian feel and the costumes were wonderful.

Still, holding it in the "Cow Palace" was not IMHO the brightest idea. It was stuffy and made me a bit queasy and dizzy. I wound up sitting a while and watching folks do waltzes and various dances common to the Victorian age. Some of these folks were GOOD! It was neat watching them sweep across the dance floor.

Today we made a quick trip up to see the giant redwoods a bit north of Sebastapol(sp?). You really need to see these wonderful old growth trees to fully comprehend what they are. Several are over 1300 years old and 400 feet tall! And the smaller plants growing on the grown made for a wonderful ground cover. [livejournal.com profile] silver_kun told us that this area, Armstong State Park, was used by George Lucas for Endor.

We did have to run a bit to catch our plane. Luckily, for us anyway, it was delayed and we were able to catch it. We landed only about 15 minutes behind the original schedule so all was good there. Landing was a bit bumpy, I think we caught a cross-wind.

Well, back to our normal lives... Now in progress...
