Finally fixed my laptop!

unclejimboBeen having issues with my laptop not finding out home wireless network. Needless to say, this was quite frustrating to me seeing as I bought the thing only this past May.
Went out to the Gateway support site and lo and behold, this has apparently been an issue with this model for some time. All I had to do was download the drive and all is fixed.
My question, why couldn't they have just done this in the first place?
