Relaxing weekend

kyburg and I went out to the Redondo Beach Pier. Very neat, found a nice restaurant for seafood and a lot of shops with interesting things. There was an R & B band playing at one of the open air restaurant/bars which was too cool. Think old style, Blues Brothers R & B.Totally kick ass.

One might ask just how much fun can you have on a $5 boat ride. Well, let me tell you. If you take the ride out into the bay, it is worth the trip. There's a whole nest of about 100 pelicans right at the pier and we saw a seal lion while we were having lunch.

"Oh, we won't see any dolphins," says Donna. "It's too cold."

We saw 6 of them. There is a pod of gray bottle nose dolphins that swim between Torrance and Malibu. Donna looked appropriately sheepish. "Call me a liar," She said with a grin. A nice surprise and they start whale watching cruises the day after Christmas. We are so there!

I've never been on a boat on an ocean in my life. I wasn't far out in the Pacific, but it was enough for a start. And yes, I stood at the very front and did the "I'm king of the world" thing from Titanic. ^^

Hey, hobbitblue! If you are looking for a neat pokemon, go to the smallest room at Meteor Falls. (up the waterfall and down to the lowest chamber.) Go to the small rectangle of land there and you'll be able to catch a Bagon. It is a dragon-type and evolves into Salamence (<--has an intermediate stage called Shelgon. Should evolve right after you catch it and level up one. Shelgon becomes Salamence at level 50.)

Gotta work tonight. Thankfully, we're almost done with JACHO. Then we won't have to worry about it for about 18 months.

Ahhh.... Breakfast. Must eat now.

Ooh thanks, will remember that - think I need surf to go up waterfalls? Not played Pokemon in ages but had fun with it the other day, so its the ideal time for a good tip.

And I am *so* envious of your boat-trip, Forest and I would *love* something like, with pelicans and seals and dolphins.. not to mention future whale watching. Bliss. You have to report back on the whale thing in copious details if you get chance to go!

Pokemon Saphire for the Gameboy Advanced. It is a lot of fun!

oh, its a game. hehe, I thought u mean real life type of deal. hehe, I play the card game, I dont have a gameboy so I havent played pokemon yet. Maybe I can buy myself a gameboy advance for myself for xmas after I get paid!
