A US serviceman on the Japanese island of Okinawa has been arrested for allegedly molesting a 10-year-old girl.
Armando Valdez, a 27-year-old Air Force sergeant, was detained on Sunday, local police said. He denied the allegations.
Incidents involving US troops and islanders are particularly sensitive because of a 1995 case when three US servicemen raped a schoolgirl.
Oh yeah, I know, our service people never do things like this... *snarl* If I were the CO, I'd turn his ass over the the Japanese authorities and let justice be done. Most likely, this pedophile is going to be "reassigned"... Probable to Iraq or someplace...
I hope he finds a land mine.

fuck that.
we have friends that our mp's. i know some of the shit that goes down even on post here.
there is a considerable percentage of military personel that joins the army because they need to get away. for many reasons, but it is a sure fire escape from whatever you have to deal with at home. then they are lonely & want that family connection... and they have the means to support one. they think that just because they are out of their bad situation, they are fine to raise a family of their own. "i'd never do that shit to my kids." without help tho, abuse cycles can be hard to break.
even without physical or sexual abuse, there is some really bad parenting going on.... something about the "village" you have helping you to raise your child being inexperienced parents who were, in turn, taught by other inexperienced parents. they lack the older generation, which has its good & bad points i suppose.... but i think more bad than god in most cases. but that's a sort of unrelated rant... i get really frustrated living here.
