Well, Donna and I are hosting a phone party for Move On.org to help the Dems take back the House and Senate from the Rubber Stamp Republicans. Good turn out and a lot of phone calls made for Jim Webb in Virgina. Sadly we're getting a lot of folks who still support George 'Macaca' Allen but that's the way it goes.

Me, I'm the support monkey. I suck at cold calls.

Well, looks like we need more phone numbers.

LOL, Webb writes dirty stuff in his books. He should have admitted that long ago and not allowed his rival to flaunt it now.

Sorry I couldn't make iy\t (Donna had told me about it last Thursday). My apologies to Donna. The latest thing I saw sort of sums it all up. Its like driving a car...(D) takes you forward; (R) takes you back.

I can recall passing through Virginia in 1959. Segregation was alive and well then, and is just under the surface now. It used to be the realm of the Dixiecrats, but now is the realm of Republicans. Is George Allen a racist? Probably.

The question I have is the nature of the entire book(s) he wrote. My understanding is that the naughty bits were chapters not the entire book. I've read several main stream novels with 'racy bits' that were well beyond PG-13. So what's the big deal? *shrugs*

Oh well... That seems to be the nature of politics these days, who can dig up the most dirt about their opponent. I would really like to return to the days when candidates talked about issues. We might actually get some work done in Congress for a change.

Even so, I'm glad you voted. Democracy doesn't work unless we all take part. I'll be voting on the 7th.
