Jul. 28th, 2007 10:17 pmJust got back from seeing Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix at Grumman's Chinese Theater. The movie was quite nice. Yes, I did notice things that were omitted or restructured for the movie. Still, I know that if you tried to put all the material from the book into the movie, it would be about 10-14 hours long. Books 6 and 7 are the same way, so just be aware that things you liked in the books are going to be missing in the next movie and enjoy the show.
The special effects were terrific and the casting of various characters, Luna Lovegood and Delores Umbridge as two fine examples. (Even so, the Umbridge in the movie resembles Laura Bush and is VERY CREEPY!!!)
As for the theater, it has been a long time since I was able to go into a movie theater that was not a multiplex. They are nice in their own way with several shows being available at one site, but a dedicated theater is just so much nicer. The room was huge, there was plenty of leg room, and the screen was almost as large as an IMAX screen. Plus its in Hollywood which is always a show in itself.
Sadly, work tomorrow, so I'll be off to bed soon.
Also a Happy Birthday to
