Oh to be a fly on the wall at the Hilton home today... In case you hadn't heard, Paris Hilton was sentenced to 45 days in jail, and not one of her choosing.
I think it is quite telling that Ms. Hilton's mother thinks this was a waste of taxpayers money. I disagree on two points.

1) I thought it was worth every penny to take that bitch down several notches.

2) I seriously doubt Mrs. Hilton or her spawn pay any significant taxes.

My favorite part of the story was Paris's statement to the judge before her sentencing for driving with a suspended license.

According to comcast news: "I'm very sorry and from now on I'm going to pay complete attention to everything. I'm sorry and I did not do it on purpose at all," Hilton, 26, told a judge before the sentencing.

Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer, saying "there's no doubt she knew her license had been suspended," ordered that Hilton report to a women's jail in suburban Lynwood by June 5.

  1. Arriving over fifteen minutes late to her probation violation hearing.
  2. Driving drunk.
  3. Driving while the license was suspended for DUI.
    • Twice!
  4. A displayed inability to accept the negative consequences of her actions

Y'know, I'm all good with Judge Sauer's decision. Why should Hilton spend her time in a "glamour slammer"? Just because she's rich?

"I don't know what happened," she said in the moments after Sauer pronounced the sentence. "I did what they said."
No, you didn't. You were told not to drive while drunk, you were told not to drive without a license, and yet you did just that. Several times. You're effing incompetent.

Do male celebrities arouse the necessary bile to earn the equivalent of the desire to 'take that bitch down several notches'? She's rich, she's annoying, but what notches does she need to be taken down? And what about men? Do men need to be taken down several notches?

I don't know about [livejournal.com profile] unclejimbo, but I want to set fire to these dudes (http://www.aetv.com/sons-of-hollywood/) just as much, if not more, than Paris Hilton.

I would be pleased to see the law applied fairly to all. The fact that some, Ms. Hilton and her mother are prime examples, feel they are entitled to behave as if the laws of our country do not apply to them because they are rich is what bothers me.

And yes, I think the 'Sons of Hollywood' should go down if they do something as monumentally stupid.

As I think on it, I have to give props to Martha Stewart. I still find her annoying, but when she was sentenced to jail, she served her time. Period. She is now back as popular with her fans as she ever was and has earned a good deal of respect from those who don't care for her.
