Order of the Phoenix
Jun. 28th, 2003 11:57 amWell, finished the book a couple of minutes ago. 870 pages in a little under 3 days. Not too bad. But I digress...
Wow!
Yes, it's much darker than the others and the Umbridge bitch was truly a waste of carbon. Even so, I loved Dumpledore's Army founded by Harry, Hermoine and Ron. Sorry Draco, it's yo ass!!!:p
No, I'm not going to spoil it for anyone else.
kyburg is reading the British release that arrived yesterday. I expect she'll be done by Sunday night. She reads WAY faster than I do.
Overall, the fifth book stands up as well as the other four. The story is unfolding and we're learning more about what's going on. Even so, Ms. Rowling says she's got at least one more major plot twist that no one has discovered or guessed. So now we will have to wait until the release of Harry Potter #6 sometime in the future.
Okay, one spoiler:
Uncle Vernon swelled ominously. His sense of outrage seemed to outweigh even his fear of this bunch of oddballs.
"Are you threatening me, sir?" he said, so loud that passersby acctually turned to stare.
"Yes, I am," said Mad-Eye, who seemed rather pleased that Uncle Vernon had grasped this fact so quickly.
"And, do I look like the kind of man who can be intimidated?" barked Uncle Vernon.
"Well..." said Moody, pushing back his bowler hat to reveal his sinisterly revolving magical eye. Uncle Vernon leapt backward in horror and collided painfully with a luggage trolley. "Yes, I'd have to say you do, Dursley."
God you have to love that Mad-Eye. He is such a hard ass...
