ouch *hugs* Um, lets see... foot raised, ice pack on the sprain, rest it for a couple days and avoid putting any weight on it. One of those tight elastic bandage things might be helpful when you do need to move around, give it more support.
i have sprained them about a half a dozen times in my 23 years... all requiring crutches & plaster/elastic splints.
one time i rolled my ankle on the stairs at school like a month into my freshman year of high school. crutches for 3 weeks. go me. way to make an entrance.
they make wretched grinding noises when i rotate them too... it's so pretty. and i still always went dancing in heels. heh. yes, yes... i am smart.

Date: 2003-11-19 07:25 am (UTC)I sprained my ankle crossing the street April 2000.
And it still occasionally bothers me... a LOT.

And be careful of the ankle!
