What can I say, I didn't have much desire or feel much need to see the Matrix. Oh yeah, my friends told me how cool it was and what a mind fuck it turned out to be. Even when I moved in with Donna and we got the movie on DVD as a gift, we left it in the wrapper for 6 months. No real need to look at it...
Then we went to see EP II and there was the promo for Matrix-Revisited. Coming out next summer. Got the cast back (well, those who survived the last movie anyway) and from what I have read in the trades a solid story to boot.
~_~ Trust me, after sitting through the Avengers and Mortal Combat Annihilation, I really check these things out in sequels. (Oh those were truly bad!)
Anyway, broke open the wrapper and got that damned tape off the box. (Cursed bastard. He deserves a horrible fate for inventing that shit!) Plopped the disk in the player and sat back to enjoy the show...
Oh... My... God!
This truly WAS a mind fuck. And it was done so well. Even the way they explained the Agents who made life so pleasant for all concerned.
Well, I watched it through and am trying to convince Donna to have a look. If there's one thing (out of a whole lot in this movie mind you) that stands out, it's when Keanu Reaves jumps into the agent at the end and blows him up. The look on the other two agents faces was priceless when Keanu looked at them.
Look at each other. Though passes through each 'mind' at same time... "Gotta go!" And they run away! I was laughing my ass off...
Okay, there's a semi-messiah thing going on at the end. But it works! Can't wait to see what happens next. (And I heard they are planning a third.)
