Things to do in life:
May. 2nd, 2004 11:09 amFlying in a B-17... CHECK!
Wow!
Did I say WOW yet?
It was a tight squeeze for someone my size to get into certain areas. You have to crawl to get into the nose section where the bombadier sits. Lessee... Check!
I was seated on the flight deck behind the co-pilot so I was able to get some great footage with the video camera. They also had one of the hatches in the middle section of the plane next to the radio operator's desk open so you could stick your head outside while in flight. (Seeing as it was already well into the 80s here it also made the plane that much cooler in a temperature sense.)
And I did stick my head out of the plane and took pictures like that. Check!
As I was sitting up by the pilots, I was able to be the first person and the last in the nose section. As such I was able to get pictures of Long Beach as we flew right over top of the Queen Mary and the Long Beach Convention Center, past host of AnimeExpo...
Now it's time to go and see how the video came out.
I did say WOW, right? :p
