[livejournal.com profile] kyburg and I went to the Japanese American National Museum for a taping of Talk of the City which is on NPR. The topic of discussion was about Memorials and what they truly mean / should mean. Very interesting, listen to the program on your local NPR station. It will make you think.

Beforehand, we took a look at the 9/11 exhibit there at the museum. This is a traveling exhibit put together by the Smithsonian. Pictures and artifacts from that day are there for you to walk amongst and even touch in some cases. (I touched a piece of steel from the upper floors. It was warped and bent like a wet cardboard box by the forces exerted on it by that disaster. Wreckage, mementos, even pictures taken by a photographic journalist who was there and killed when the north tower fell. The film in his camera survived and the images are truly moving. If this exhibit comes to your town, please go see it. For those near LA, it will be at the Japanese American National Museum until August 15th.

Not much else to say, except that I'm tired and the bed is calling. Also garbage day tomorrow.

Later.
