Red Adair died...
Aug. 8th, 2004 10:48 amTalk about an end to an era. If you had an oil well on fire, this was the guy you called. Even John Wayne did a movie about his life back in the 60s.
The guy was in his 70s when he went to Kuwait to help put out the oil well fires set by Saddam's troops. The talking heads said it would take years. Red and his cohorts did the job in 6 months.
Aljazeera, BBC News, and the Houston Chronicle have the stories. Take your pick. It is interesting how the take from the Aljazeera feed is no different from any others. Mr. Adair was just THAT respected.
Later Red. And if you decide you need to put out the fires of Hell, go for it! (Heck, he'll probably do it too.)
