Animal Cops: Torrance
Apr. 2nd, 2005 12:25 pmOn the way into work this morning, I noticed a German Shepard tied up to the back of someone's pickup. I could hardly miss it, it barked at me as I walked out to my car.
As I backed out of the drive, I saw that it's leash was long enough to let it get into the middle of the street and that it was very skinny and dirty. I could easily see it's ribs and spine under its fur. Way too skinny.
Pulling out my cell phone, I called
kyburg at home and asked her to check on the dog for me. She later told me he drank two big bowls of water and ate a bowl of food and all the treats she could find. She called Animal Control and they came out, took one look and took the dog to the shelter for food and medical care.
Animal cruelty? Where I can see you do it?
I don't think so. I may not be an expert, but I sure as hell am a well trained observer. The owner can explain to authorities why they let their dog get in that condition.
Rarrrr!
