kyburg told me about the "Patriot Act" not being renewed. Thank God!

And now the Shrub is admitting he authorized wiretaps in this country that were against the law and that he felt he was right to authorize them.

You've got to be kidding me!

Folks, we so desperately need to regain congress in the 2006 elections. I know the Greens and other groups do not like the Dems very much, but compared to the Bushies, these guys are looking a whole lot better.

We need to have the checks and balances restored. We need to do away with the political fear-mongering by Faux News and others paid by the Bushes. We need a free press that will not bow to political pressure and tell the people the truth, even when it is ugly and inconvenient.

For me, I'm gearing up for next Saturday. Yes, I celebrate Christmas. I respect those who celebrate Kwanzaa, Hanuka, Winter Solstice, or nothing at all.

And to the psycho X-tians out there...

Apparently, he gave a speech this morning urging Congress to pass the Patriot Act too.

My problem with many of the Dems, is that they have no spine, and have done a lot of things that could be labelled as 'conservative,' because they felt that to protest would be to enact a losing battle. I appreciate Barbara Boxer, because she's one of the few who actually HAS a backbone. I have been so disappointed in the people I've given my vote to (I come from Colorado, so a good example would be Ben Nighthorse Campbell- who turned conservative halfway into his first term), that I've almost given up hope in the party all together. Again, Boxer has not disappointed, and I feel very lucky she represents us here in CA.

That said, I agree that something has to be done in 2006. We need strong candidates to come in and take over, so that Shrubbery and his cronies have less control. I truly fear what will happen if we don't do something now.
