Hi folks!
Sorry about not updating, but well, I got Star Wars: Empire at War and have been happily slaying Rebel scum across the Galaxy... And yes, Darth Vader kicks ass...
In other news: This week, I turned 42. Thanks to all who wished me a happy birthday and a special thanks to Tommy and
caitlin who met up with Donna and me for dinner.
We recieved the money from the refi on the house and so are now able to proceed with our adoption plan with Heartsent Adoptions. I'm going to set up a meeting with them on Friday to start the paperwork so they can do their home study. Expected total cost, $15,000. Expected time, 6-9 months. Stay tuned.
The plan is to adopt a little girl now and a boy later on. So sometime soon, Donna and I will be off to China. Hopefully I can avoid falling into any cursed springs... very tragic story...
Also got to pay off the loan for our vacuum cleaner today from Beneficial. Their collection department when I had to deal with them were jerks and their telemarketers kept calling me at work so I had enough. I paid off the entirety of the loan today and told them that I would not do business with them again. So anyone out there looking at a loan, please think twice before going with Beneficial. You'll thank yourself, trust me.
Talked to my adopted niece who's having a hard time with her pregnancy.
firez is her brother. It sounds like she's at least going to be on total bed rest for the durations of her pregnancy, approx. 2 months, and it is very likely she's going to be hospitalized for a healthy portion of that time as well. Kind of a wait and see situation there. I'm not even sure what help I can be. I'll leave it at very concerned for her at this point and hopefully I'll find out more later. Hey,
firez, keep me posted and call sometime, okay?
I think that will do for now. I wanna go and smite rebels now.

Date: 2006-04-01 08:18 am (UTC)Hi Sweetie,
Oh my God James I'm so excited for you! This is my dream, a little girl from China, and I've never even considered a boy, wow. I'm just so happy. Please keep us posted. Come over and wave a flag around in front of my eyes because you know what a space queen I am. Gosh this is such good news, I'm just over the moon for you guys. The only reason, or reasons, why I haven't started the process myself is a.) Scott and I aren't settled and don't live together so we'd have to work this out, b.) I have too many cats and I'm afraid we'd never pass the home study, and c.) My mom is racist and isn't supportive of my plan, she says, "Poor little girl, she would never feel at ease or welcome, she would forever feel different because of how she looks," etc., etc. So I keep telling myself I'll wait until my Mother goes to heaven, considering that she's ninety, or just about, maybe there's still time for us. I'm adopted and I want to give back, and I'm drawn to China, always have been. So there's our story.
Smite rebels? Star Wars? If so, Beau is in the other room right now playing Star Wars Galaxies.

PS: Here's your horoscope for this week from Rob Brezny's Free Will Astrology;
ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
"It would be a great time to launch several new ventures all at once, even if it means abandoning an old project you've been working on for months. APRIL FOOL! Don't you dare do what I just suggested. The future won't thrive unless you lavish the past with the gift of your careful attention. Please please please put the finishing touches on a labor of love you've been working on for months--and then start new projects. "
