More adoption news...
May. 11th, 2007 04:42 pmThere was a bit of excitement last night. We received a packet from the US Consulate in Ghangzhou, China. Initially we thought it was our long awaited log-in date, sadly no, but it was the official confirmation that we were accepted and will be traveling to China in the future to collect our daughter. * Y'all follow that? :P *
It's nice to know that there truly is a light at the end of this long, long tunnel. In hindsight, we probably should have done the adoption from Taiwan first, but what can you do? Live and learn, right?
Had a fellow here from Southwest Airlines today to set up the delivery of our rocking chair from Kentucky. We could have had it sent by the maker, but Donna wants to put stuff she finds from the various antique stores in the container with the chair. It works out to be a bit cheaper but it sure is a lot of extra work, IMHO. Sierra, wherever you are, I hope you appreciate what your mom and I are doing for you. (Kiddo's name settled: Sierra Rose Elaine Bell.) Just let your old dad use it from time to time, okay?
In other news, Donna and I are enjoying the new Pokemon games. (Why Pokemon, you ask. It is fun, if not habit forming. You really want to catch 'em all. And it makes me the cool Uncle in the eyes of my nieces and nephews.) The graphics have been tweaked a bit and are very nice and there are new attacks to try out on your friends. (heh heh) I just finished with my 8th badge and Team Galaxy (who are filling in as punching bags for Team Rocket) has been dealt with. (Bwaa haa haaa) Pity I can't name my character, Billy Bad Ass. Just not enough letters.
Well, back to the driver's ed class. Now in progress.

Date: 2007-05-12 03:53 am (UTC)We will be naming our baby girl Lily Mamie Block. We estimate we'll probably be traveling around November of 2008. We'll have to get another little rocker for Lily. We have a hand-made one for Alex with a bear carved into the back in different woods. I'd like to have one with a kitty for Lily.
My husband and I used to play Pokemon the card game a lot when we were newlyweds. I'd like to start doing that again. It was so much fun! We met because of a card game (Dune), so it seemed the thing to do.
Parenthood has brought us so much joy and laughter. I cannot wait for y'all to get your daughter!
