Nissei Festival

unclejimboWent to Nissei Festival with Donna. We went last Saturday but had to leave early because I had to work.
If you are wondering, Nissei are second generation Japanese Americans and in Los Angeles they have this big party every year to celebrate their heritage. Everyone is welcome.
Food, entertainment, crafts, food, wonderful clothes. (Cosplayers who want to know how to wear a kimono properly, here's a place to learn!)
It has a feel very similar to the festivals depicted in various Anime titles. The big difference is that You Are There.
In other news, we found the place where Donna bought a jade rat necklace. (She was born in 1960 so her Chinese zodiac sign is the Rat. I was born in 1964, so my sign is the Dragon. Cool, huh?) Sadly, her necklace was chewed up by my cat, Ai-chan, so it needed to be restrung. The lady who made it originally was there and restrung it while we waited. I found a jade dragon necklace so we got that as well.
Then I got home and found a nice piece of e-mail. Seems that a story I have on my website inspired her to write a story. She sent me a note with the story attached. (Big gut laugh) I can't think of a better compliment.
Well, I gotta work tomorrow. Didn't find time to write this weekend, maybe some this week.
