Things of interest today...
Aug. 21st, 2002 11:58 pmWent with Donna to see 'The Phantom of the Opera' in Orange County tonight. The presentation was wonderful, the music absolutely marvelous, the costumes to die for...
The acoustics of the theater left a little bit to be desired however. It was very difficult at times to understand what the actors were saying on the stage even though they were all apparently miked.
Still, overall, the show is a must see if you haven't already seen it live.

A verdict, finally in the trial of David Westerfield. He was convicted of kidnapping, murdering, and Lord knows what else to a 7 year old little girl named Danielle Van Dam. He was also convicted of 'lesser' charges of having child pornography on his computer... Real piece of work this guy, eh? Where's Kenshin when you really need him?

Dealt with financing for a new house Donna and I want to get. Together we are eligible to borrow $260,000... (Pardon me while I get up off the floor again.) Donna's done this before with her first husband, Cliff. For me, this is unexplored territory.

Checked in with my mom today in Tennessee. So far my grandmother is doing well. Still, when dealing with cancer, all you can do is take things one day at a time. Still, so far her biggest complaint is about being nauseous. Pretty minor considering. My brothers will be in Tennessee over Labor Day, so that will be a good thing. Last time they saw her, she was just out of surgery and looking very frail. She's bounced back a lot since. All we can do now is enjoy what time we have left. She's 78, so she can say she has had a good long life...
Am I selfish in thinking I'd like her to stick around a bit longer? if she could be healthy and do stuff, sure. But if she were going to be in pain... No, guess not... I'll miss her when she's gone though.
Didn't intend to make this so long. Oh well, guess that happens too.
