MIGRAINE!!!
May. 28th, 2008 07:57 pmLong day at work down in Ortho as well as covering pain block in the morning. Left my meds up in the pain block area so when I got a headache in the late morning before lunch, it just got worse.
The docs sent a ton of work after lunch didn't help any either.
Took Imitrex and Motrin and the head is now just starting to settle down. Down side, I'm not worth a damn this evening.
Been keeping tabs on the Phoenix mission which landed on Sunday. (Note to self: There really is nothing better than being in a room full of space geeks when you are watching a landing on Mars.)
This past weekend,
kyburg and I went up to San Jose to meet up with friends at Fanime and Bay Con. All in all, I preferred Bay Con more because it was smaller and more low key. Fanime was fun, lots of energy and the Gong Show was a hoot, but as others have noted, the Otaku really have taken over and seem to be very proud of their life style. (Saw one heading home at the train station with a kanojyo/girlfriend pillow and wall scroll tucked under his arm. @.@ ) Simply put, it just isn't something I want to spend my money on with a kid on the way and a lot more responsibility on hand.
kyburg is writing a more in depth story about our exploits. Still, one regret was not going ahead and replacing the tires on the car our friend let us borrow for the weekend. (And yes, a Honda Fit is a fun car to drive. I'm still looking for the clutch even though my car is an automatic.)
Now if the karaoke gang needs help or a judge for the Gong Show, I am so there. Also, AOD is always something we're game for, more for the people we know and want to see than anything else.
Cons are fun, friends to meet up with, much more fun.
Special thanks to
muimi07 and
stormdragon who allowed me to hold little Sera up on the 21st floor. She's teeny, she had these gorgeous brown eyes, and her parents were amazed that she laid there and looked up at this big, strangely colored stranger who cooed at her while rocking her. Definitely quality baby time. Nice to know I haven't lost my touch. ^^
