Got a call from my doctor today. I had my yearly physical Tuesday and he was calling me with some results.

Being 38, I have to be more cautious about certain indicators on my health. Luckily for me, I have a naturally low pulse rate and blood pressure. However, last year my cholesterol was 285 and my doctor wanted me to take Lipitor.

Well, last year, just before I had the blood drawn, I ate 3 hamburgers from McDonald's. No one told me that I should fast before the test and quite frankly, eating that would screw up anybody's cholesterol levels, but Dr. Levine was concerned that 285 was closer to my natural average. So I told him if my numbers were still high, I'd take the Lipitor.

My cholesterol this time was 195. (200 is the number you want to be below. The lower the better.)

*Grins* Dr. Levine said he had to look at the results 3 times, he couldn't believe my numbers were that low. And so I don't need the meds. I still have to watch what I eat. I'm still too close to 200 for my comfort.

Still, it is nice when you have a good doctor who's first concern is your well being!
