What I did on my day off...
Oct. 20th, 2002 09:51 pmWell, for starters, i got to sleep in till about 10 AM. Donna had made an appointment to see a realtor about a house in Gardena. So I got up, had breakfast and got to look at pictures from the disposable cameras we've accumulated over the last year or so...
Some were very nice, pictures of my family in Tennesse from our trip out there in May. Even had one of my Grandma sitting on the porch. Good memories. Donna and I sat with her looking at old family albums for a couple of hours. Definitely something I'l treasure.
LOTS [~_~] of pictures from the San Diego Wild Animal Park. We go there every couple of months to see the animals out roaming in the valley and feed the Lorakeets. (They have to land on you to get the nectar you're holding. If you are lucky, you can have more than one on you. One time I had seven. One just sat there on my shoulder and would squawk at the others from time to time.
Some pictures from a trip to Grass Valley to see some of Donna's family. Just Donna, her mom and me flying up to see Donna's Aunt and Uncle and a bunch of cousins. Much fun and food was had by all.
And lastly, we had pictures from the fiasco in Las Vegas.
I honestly thought my father wanted to have a relationship with me, but in fact he was more interested in making sure people thought the right way about him and his wife, Mary Ann. (<-- AKA the Evil Step Mother)
Taking Donna aside at every opportunity to bad mouth me and my family at every turn. Oh he had some facts in there, but when he told me my mother didn't really love me, I knew he was full of shit. Either that or my mother has given one of the best performances over the last 20 years in history.
*sigh*
Well anyways, we went out to the Skechers store and got shoes. The company periodically has a promotion for employees to let them get shoes for 50% off. And when you're like me with size 13 feet, every little bit helps. We both got 3 pairs and even got some shoes for a local charity we support. (Called 'Shoes That Fit' - helps low income families get clothing for school aged children. Makes sure they have somehting nice that is all theirs. We've been doing this for 2 years and I've dubbed Donna the Shoe Lady.)
Went out to Pasadena and looked around. Very neat place, lots of character. We were planning on meeting some friends for dinner, but things didn't pan out and for some reason they were no shows. Hope things are okay.
That's about it from here. Going to try and catch Spirited Away tomorrow after work.
