A Home At Last...

Well, it's official. Our escrow closes tomorrow and the house in Torrance is ours (and the bank's... @.@ ) Even so, it will be very strange to have my name on the deed and to know that this is my home. I've done the apartment thing and lived with Donna, but this is the first home I've ever owned. It's a strange situation for me.

And kyburg was remembering, it was 3 years ago that I first came out to California while working for Kinko's. So much is different... I never dreamed I'd have been able to do this... Not three years ago at any rate. It's starting to seem real now.

Still, we have to do something about the paint job inside... Lime Green and Lavender just doesn't do it for us, ya know? :p

Well, the wiring and network stuff is all finished. We stopped by the house to check on the dog and pick up the lawnmower so it could be serviced and the painters were there finishing up the work on the inside. (Now a nice cream color.) The walls have been textured so as not to show where all the holes from the repairs and those made during the rewiring were at. The place almost looks brand new in spots.

Coming soon, floors and carpet, then my cat Ai-chan comes home. (After 12 weeks at the boarder's...)

Well, I don't work for Kinko's anymore thank God. Still, I do remember about their set ups. They will take PDF files and print them with no problems. That format is an industry standard and their is no way they would have gotten rid of the Adobe software to handle it. They even had software on their website to help customers format their documents in PDF. Talk to your local Kinko's for more details.
