Still, we checked on the painters yesterday while getting the lawnmower for servicing. The house is changing quite nicely. There are a few spots where the old green and lavender show signs of their presence, but it is now predominantly a nice cream color. The texturing worked as advertized. You would almost not believe this was the same house. And we still haven't gotten the floors taken care of yet.

Donna showed me the door Mr. Teeple (our contractor) was suggesting to replace the old one. Donna was afraid it would overpower the rest of the room, but I took a look at the color and had to agree with him. It is a slightly darker shade than our floors will be, but it will add just the right amount of color to the room. Will be just dandy I think.

Went out to Lowes looking for pruning shears, and stuff for doing the dishes. Sadly, we won't get a dishwasher installed until Phase II, but that's okay. I'll teach her how to do the dishes right... ^^

One thing about Lowes, don't go there looking for a dish rack for doing dishes. They don't have them. And the stuff the have for papering the cabinets was 3 times the amount of the stuff we bought at Marukai later on. (Along with the dish rack and a board to drain the water back into the sink. We are so domestic, eh?)

Loud, loud street party on last night. Far enough away we couldn't see it, loud enough to be hear clearly inside the hotel. Ugh. And they didn't shut down until midnight.

I will be so glad to move into the house. June 7th, folks. Mark your calendars.

And Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is out in just 3 weeks... We have ours ordered on Amazon. So we'll be getting it around July 4th most likely... ~~

Time to do a quick check of mail and then go eat.
