Back in CA again...
Jun. 6th, 2007 07:10 amFlew out Thursday to Kentucky to see lots of family and attend a family reunion for my grandfather who just turned 95 yesterday.
The flight, not bad. We had a brief layover in Las Vegas where
kyburg started with $9.00 and came back with $17.00... So in our brief stay in Vegas, we came out ahead... or so we thought.
The flight from Vegas to Louisville was mostly uneventful except for a bit of turbulence over Kansas. Pesky thunderstorms. We arrived on time, but while
kyburg was at the Hertz counter getting the car, I was waiting for the 3 bags we checked. Only 2 showed up... Grrrr....
I walk over to the Southwest office and start an inquiry into where our bag went. Seeing as it held Donna's laptop, we really wanted it back and I had a good idea where it went. The plane we went to Vegas in continued on to Philadelphia. I suggested they start looking there.
Went back to Donna, she was now talking to the trainee who was the only one working at 1:30 AM and had no one to refer to for help. And all she had left for give us was a Chrysler 300. Ugly with a capital UG! I dubbed to the Moose. Overpowered, badly designed controls. Poor ergonomics. Even the "leather" seats were hard up front. (I am told the back seat was much more comfortable, but I didn't sit back there.) Geez, no wonder Chrysler is being sold to the lowest bidder. If this is the best they can do, maybe it is time for the Chrysler brand to fade into the sunset.
Get to our hotel at 2 AM. The manager was covering the night shift and had our paperwork and keys on her desk waiting for us. Fastest check-in evah. And the beds were NICEeeeeee....
More later. Tired now. Taking day off.
