Pretty quiet day. Biggest challenge was staying up with only 5 hours sleep last night. *sigh* Still, saw Phantom. I'm happy. (Goth overload? Well, sorta I guess.)

Sitting and checking mail before falling down. Donna has Ranma 1/2 DVD on. Not much else going on.

*Yawn*

Glad payday tomorrow. Need money for food...

Still, working as an X-ray Tech means I'll get a sh*tload tomorrow. (Overtime GOOD! In small doses.) If anyone is looking for a good job, this is one and there's a huge need.

Well, enough of that. Going to sleep.

G'nite!

It's not too bad. You are in a hospital setting so if you have trouble with blood and stuff it might not be for you. You're also on your feet most of the time. A good pair of shoes is a must. (If you need some, lemme know. My wife works for Skechers. :)

As to how to get in. Go to your local junior college. Most have a program. If not, they can tell you who does.

Pay starts at around $19-20 and hour. In certain markets you can make more.

The course is 2 years. Most of that is On the Job Training in a hospital so you get your hands on it early.

Thanks so much for the information, and the offer. You are too kind.

I don't have a problem with blood, unless I have to poke around in it. And the starting pay is more than I make now, and I'm pretty topped out where I'm at.

I'll have to look into it.

Thanks again!

Not a problem. The thing I like about LJ is how friendly the people you meet are.

And I know about topping out in the pay department. The x-ray job market a few years ago wasn't so hot. I had to work at Kinko's to survive. *grumbles and sticks more pins in his Kinko's doll* :)

Another nice thing about x-ray is that you can expand your knowledge into Computerized Tomography (Cat Scans), MRI, Nuclear Medicine and Ultrasound. This is a field where the more you know does translate into more dollars.

Hmmm... Poking around in blood... Not usually. Although we do a lot of work in surgery, we don't have to do the actual poking. It does take some getting used to. But once you do, it's not so bad. Sometimes you see some very neat things and the good doctors will show you how they work.

If you have any other questions (or need shoes :P) Let me know.

Thanks again. I mentioned our conversation to my boyfriend and now he's interested. LOL. So there may be more questions. We are going to look into classes at our local community college. There are several in our county so we shouldn't have any trouble.

When I told him about the shoes he just looked at me like I was wacked! (Our experience prior to LJ was limited to chatrooms. And, as I'm sure you know, you get offered a lot of things in a chat, but never shoes! LOL)

You are right about people being friendly here. LJ is a much more people friendly environment and I am enjoying it immensely.

*Laughing*

Yeah, I've been in those rooms. Some of the things they offered I had to look up to find out what they were. LOL

As for the shoes, just tell your boyfriend to give me size, stlye and color. (Go to the Skecher's website and look at the catalog. I'll give the order to my wife. Can you say discounts? I knew you could!) :)
