Picked up Return to Neverland this week and checked it out today.

Wow!

This is definitely a treasure that if you have kids or are planning on kids you should get. Unlike a lot of the direct to video releases that Disney puts out, this one would have no difficulty being shown in the theater. The animation and musical score are just that good.

As for the story... Well it is set during the London Blitz in World War II and centers around Wendy's daughter Jane who gets kidnapped by Captain Hook and taken to Neverland.

After that is a wonderful story where Jane finds herself once more, Hook is beaten and all is set right in the world. I won't spoil the story with the details, but I will recommend this one to everyone.

Still waiting for Excel Saga 2 to ship from Amazon. I am so jealous of [livejournal.com profile] kitty_minako she picked it up already and probably has been getting Anime overload... WAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!! :P

Going to get some work done on Motherhood today. That will be a good thing and long overdo.

Spent the day off doing nothing! Didn't have to worry about the house falling down, didn't have to get up at 5 AM to get into work, didn't have to do battle on the LA freeways!

For the first time in a long time, got to read some fan fics. Writing tomorrow is on the agenda. [livejournal.com profile] kyburg is typing happily away on her laptop as I write this working on the rewrite of Motherhood: Part 2. (Didn't think this story was going to become an on-line novel... Oh well.)

Been talking to my nephew [livejournal.com profile] firez. He's young, gay and inexperienced. And he's dealing with some heavy stuff right now. Anyone with some insight into sexual assault is welcome. I've found some resources for him to explore, but there has to be more out there.

The 'funny' thing is he thought I would be ashamed or disappointed in him. Not a chance. I just don't back away from family like that. Not my nature. I want him to be careful but his life and decisions are his. And his mistakes are his to make. All I can do is be here to offer advice and support.

He's now dealing with the PTSD from the attack. It happened a year ago. As a survivor of child abuse, I know all too well about PTSD and how it can really mess you up. Mine came through as anger. His seems more inclined to depression.

Trouble is Illinois has few resources for young gay men so if someone sees this and knows of one or even an on-line forum, please send it along to me or to [livejournal.com profile] firez.

He's a good kid who's so far had nothing but bad breaks. Thanks.
