Turkay Day +8...

Took my mom to LAX for the flight home to Kentucky. *sigh* It was so nice having her here and getting to see how well she is doing. If my brothers try and tell me my mom needs to be committed, well, they'll have to prove it. Mom needed some direction, I new which direction she needed to go.

Grief, depression... God, do I know those places too well... Heck, work at Kinko's for any length of time and "you can know them too..."

Went to San Juan Capistrano yesterday. The day was gorgeous, the only thing we needed was some crumbs for the koi fish in the fountains.

I'm glad mom had such a nice time here, especially after all the drama in Chicago these last few months. Still, I'm already missing her and can't wait for her next visit. kyburg and I are plotting a trip for both of our moms to Hawaii next November... Cross your fingers folks, that'll be a lot of fun!

We got a call from Donna's sister tonight. Brad, my brother-in-law, lost his brother Russell to diabetes earlier this evening.

I only met Russell a few times at the holidays. He's been in assisted living for the last 2 years because his physical condition had deteriorated so far he could no longer be cared for at home.

Not a good patient to deal with. Combative and non-compliant. This is probably killing Brad. His mom is most likely a basket case. *sigh*

Donna and I will of course be there to help where we can.
