Sucky Thursday...
Apr. 29th, 2004 10:01 pmOne of our students at the hospital, Monica, was removed from the program, 4 weeks shy of graduation. Not because of poor grades or performance, but because some little prick wanted to get someone in trouble. I won't go into details, but he is a marked man at Kaiser now. I doubt he will finish x-ray school because I know that no one in my department will teach him and we'll let all the other hospitals know what kind of character he has. Backstabbing little creep. Just because he couldn't take a little constuctive criticism? Grrrr...
She had some troubles getting used to things at the hospital last fall and they were talking about asking her to resign then but I stepped up and helped her through the rough spots where I could. She was great, confident and would have easily passed her test come June. Now she will have to see what other options there are for her to complete school. All she needs is a few crummy classes. Then she will be eligible to take the ARRT test.
It is nice that I am not the only one who is angry. Suggestions on how to deal with this turd ran from kicking his ass to strapping him to a fluoro table and turning it on for a few hours. My thought was to keep him on and make his life miserable before we failed him.
And he had the nerve to say it was a matter of ethics... *snort* If that were the case, his clinical instructor at the hospital wouldn't have had to learn of the even from a phone call. Ethics my ass, fucking coward!
On a nicer note, I have my reservation confirmed to fly in a B-17 this Sunday. I wish my camera wasn't broken but the video camera will be there so I can tape the experience.
I wish this bullshit at work hadn't happened.
