Battletech pod fiasco...
Apr. 28th, 2002 10:00 pmDonna and I went to Dave and Buster's to play in the battletech pods. First game was ok, but the last two... ugh!
Donna did ok in her three games but in my second, I had no radar and no targeting info. Even so I did so-so... The third game I tried advanced mode but didn't like it. I didn't know which way I was facing. After I returned to basic mode, it seemed I couldn't do appreciable damage to anyone and when I did try and focus my attention on an enemy, another player (code named Moron of all things) either stole my kill or found some way to make a kill with little or no damage to my mech. (I was using the 90 ton Sunder. It packs a lot of armor and I was slugging it out with multiple opponents in other games. One piddly Avatar shouldn't have mattered.)
Anyway, I'm ticked and handled it badly. Turning an otherwise pleasant evening into a bomb... I'm beginning to hate those stupid pods...

And the worst part?
Yeah right. Next time, maybe I should suggest a root canal without Novacaine.
Crap.
