And the troll responds...
Jul. 24th, 2003 07:14 amHere's
seifergrrl's reply to me when I defended
kyburg and the use of the questioned Inu Yasha icon.
Subject: Re: You are a very annoying, self-centered person.
I can infact support my claims and have. You -- and
kyburg --
are ignoring obvious proof. If I took it to Livejournal support, I'm
afraid they'd be forced to see that the icon is my work and thus, rule in
favor of the artist: ME.
She's locked me out already so I couldn't tell her how I'm posting this here for you all to enjoy.
"High Priestess of the Church of Dogboy" indeed...
What a maroon... ^^

Why yes, my icon is from Lucas Arts, from one of their new games. No, I didn't ask permission.
Oy.
Date: 2003-07-24 10:12 am (UTC)But if one is going to whine about scans (which isn't artwork in and of itself, if you think about it beyond the initial I took time out of my day to do this!!1!!), and use of artwork, should one be using copywritten material without the original creator/copyright holder's permission? Technically speaking, because you haven't done jack or diddly to the scan, from a source which I don't believe is public domain, you're stealing Rumiko Takahashi's work.
At least when you make a sammich, you have to slap the condiments on yourself. You chose not to put any condiments on your Inu Yasha sammich. What's to prove that you're the one who scanned it in the first place, if we want to go further steps...?
Yeah, this will probably get deleted, differing viewpoint and lack of cookies and all. Such is the way of LJ.
Nani yo?
Date: 2003-07-24 11:06 am (UTC)-cause she knows that wouldn't work!-
Ahem, anyway, she needs to just let it go. She's not really the artist of anything unless she drew the picture herself or spent a lot of time altering the image to make it into her own creation, neither of which she did. And honestly, unless you put your name on your icon, it's anyones meat, everyone knows that. She has no way of proving that was hers, nothing in her defense. And honestly, if anyone ever used an icon I'd created, I'd be flattered! Means I did a good job and they liked it!...blah, people get so worked up over everything. /rant
