Buddy Ebsen died today at 95 or 96... Still what a life...
Danced with a small Shirley Temple, would have been the Tin Woodsman in the Wizard of Oz had they not decided to use aluminum powder on his costume (he was hospitalized when the powder went into his lungs nearly killing him), playing Jed Clampett and Barnaby Jones on TV plus other roles on TV and in the movies.
My favorite memory of him, however, was during a reunion show hosted by Phil Donahue... Buddy was in his 80's at the time and still performing. He got up to do a small dance number for the audience and I swear I saw 30 years fall away from this man. He loved people and he loved performing. I think that is the best way to remember him.
